Background:
JAMES M. HARRINGTON, is an associate at the law firm of Polito & Quinn, LLC in Waterford, Connecticut. A native of Clinton, Connecticut, James attended The Morgan High School. In 2003, James graduated from Boston College with a degree in political science and cum laude from Western New England College School of Law in 2010. While in law school James earned several book awards and was a multiple recipient of the Western New England College Merit Scholarship and the Katherine M. Connell Scholarship for outstanding academics. James also served as a production editor for the Western New England Law Review. Prior to joining Polito & Quinn, James spent six years as a litigation law clerk and office supervisor for a Connecticut personal injury firm, gaining extensive experience in the handling of personal injury claims. During college, James also interned for the insurance division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
In addition to handling claims for personal injury in the State of Connecticut, James also practices tribal law, representing clients whose injuries occurred at either of Connecticut’s two casinos, Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods. James is licensed to practice in both the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court at Foxwoods. In law school, James was the recipient of the Cali Award for Future Excellence in Federal Indian Law and wrote extensively on the issue of tribal law and Native American sovereignty.
In addition to his legal career, James serves in the United States Army, Connecticut National Guard. James graduated with honors from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, where he was a platoon team leader. James is also active in several community organizations including the Estuary Lodge of Old Saybrook, the American Bar Association’s Military Pro Bono Project, the Wounded Warrior Project and the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Home Base Program, which supports veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorders and traumatic brain injuries.
