Background:
MICHAEL J. QUINN, was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Michael graduated with honors from the University of Maryland in 1975 with a B.A. in philosophy. In 1979, Michael received his M.A. from Yale University. Michael graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law Cum Laude in 1987.
For the court year 1987-1988, Michael was the law clerk to Judge Paul Foti at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 1988, Michael joined Tyler, Cooper and Alcorn in New Haven, Connecticut. Michael moved his practice to New London in 1990 where he has practiced for the past 20 years.
For over 20 years, Michael has represented the interests of people who have suffered personal injury as the result of other’s negligence and defective products. He has successfully pursued claims against Ford Motor Company and Chrysler Motor Company for defects that caused serious injury to the occupants. He is currently pursuing a claim against Toyota Motor Company in connection with the floor mats and sticky gas pedal. He has pursued numerous cases against nursing homes in connection with the care they provided to their patients. He recently resolved a claim involving a fall from a commercial roof that resulted in a spinal cord injury. The defendants in that claim were an international architecture firm, an international construction company and two national engineering firms.
Michael handles motor vehicle claims with injuries from the catastrophic to the less serious. Michael has always recognized that his clients have only one claim and that it is the most important claim.
In 1998, Michael was certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as the Civil Trial Specialist. He was re-certified by the Board in 2003 and again in 2008.
